ORBIT360 4K cannot record time lapse movie if powered with USB

Post by idontexist3000 »

Hi,

Orbit360 is a nice and versatile camera that incorporates both wide angle and dome view, I really like it. Unfortunately the whole product line is discontinued, and there is no further means to purchase accessories for it. Too bad.

Since I'm still happily use it, I am going to try my luck here: while trying to make time lapse movie records, with USB power cord connected, the recorded time always shows 00:00 and the camera freeze at "processing" screen if the record button is pressed, in an effort to stop recording.

Firmware version 1.41.
The settings in problem are: "Front" camera, "FullHD 60FPS" resolution, all ULTRA/MIDDLE/NARROW mode. "Time Lapse Move", "1" or "2" secs of interval.

It seems no problem at all if powered by battery only.

4k 30FPS resolution is seemly able to record it to a certain length, but still cannot record to the full length that was claimed on camera, like it should be able to record 4 hours but actually stopped at just the 2nd hour.

Hope there is still someone maintaining the firmware code and will get the bugs fixed...
